With an ability to envision solutions to a problem., and then apply new technologies to solve complex problems. Steadfast and goal driven. Materials not limited to wood... "starboard" which is High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), fiberglass, carbon fiber, and other plastics and composites are easily fabricated to provide value and enduring solutions.
With more that 30 years in a variety of boat building specialties - Glenn is your guy when it comes to carpentry and composites. After thousands of hours in a custom boat shop or in the marina, Glenn has the talent and skill to get the job done. Glenn has a Coast Guard 6 pak cert, a US Sailing and Clinic Director certifications, coupled along with thousands of hours on the race course.
Primary Skills: Provide execution of timely processes to craft custom woodwork for your vessel, with skill and finesse. With communication skills to elaborate on boat construction and your project. Prelim sketches and renderings can be developed for envisioning a complete solution.
Did You Know ?
Glenn's Grandpa was a boatbuilder, many small sailboats and power boats were built in the 40's-60's.
Glenn has a BS in Product Design and a minor in plastics - he taught at Long Beach State as an Instructor in Industrial Plastics. Also the Sailing Coach 1986-1988 at "The Beach".
Glenn had a small sailing school and boat rental company 1989 - 1993, in Alamitos Bay on 62nd Place.
Glenn worked in the Sailing Charter space for 6 years.
Glenn was a job caption at a custom boat builder, specializing in 50-70 foot boats - Westerly Marine Inc. was mostly building high performance sailboats built with Carbon and Epoxy.

Not limited to carpentry and composites however; with our connections within the boating community, Glenn has networked with some amazing craftsmen with exceptional skills - mechanics: metal fabrication, engines, electrical, and more for refits and complex systems installations. Complete 26' Runabout Restoration
Built in San Diego in 1981 by Knight and Carver. The original owners wanted a wonderful styled boat and this replica of the Riva Aquarama was built. It’s a very seaworthy and proven hull for those looking to build a large offshore runabout for friends and family. The original owners had let the boat decline and the current owner had started to re-do the deck. Moving the dash aft about 18”, and then after re-skininning the deck with Luan and West System to boat layed dormant for about 20 years. Always wanting to revive its glorious beauty he hired Glenn Styron to bring her back, the restoration process has been carefully crafted. A new teak deck, hull paint, and lots of masterfully detailed features have been incorporated. (* the top image is a Carbon strut that helps support the composite hard top - that consists of Coosa Board, Kevlar and carbon reinforcements ) New upholstery and electrical, a finely tuned 454 engine are all part of this elegant and powerful craft. Quick response to get vessel back into service.
Another boat - Powerboat lost control and sandwiched the gondola into the dock.
Complete repair - 5 days on the beach, made for a full structural repair, lucky to have a full moon and mostly low tide during daylight hours.
With aid of the original fiberglass skin, this helped keep the hull shape, robust cloth and epoxy ensured that the form would be strong and back to original.
The Cap Rail was severely damaged and needed a strong repair, the oak rail required a skilled craftsman to take charge.
The athwartship beams needed full replacement after the collision. The ribs at this location also needed replacement - zoom in ....
The Gondola was back on the water and gliding along the canals of Naples, on Alamitos Bay in less than six days.
